Andrea Zittel: Critical Space opens to the public on Thursday, January 26th.

On Thurs. 2/2, 6:30-8PM Andrea Zittel discusses her work with New Museum Curator Trevor Smith. This event will take place at New York University's Steinhardt School of Education, Einstein Auditorium, Barney Building, 34 Stuyvesant Street (between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue). Free!

Portrait of the Artist as a Paint-Splattered Googler

The New York Times has an article on painter Dana Schutz . You can see more of her work here. Ms. Shutz will also have a show this winter at The Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University. “Dana Schutz: Works from 2002-2006” is curated by Rose interim director and curator Raphaela Platow, and will be exhibited from Jan. 19-April 9, 2006, in The Rose’s Lois Foster Wing.

Brandeis University is 9 miles west of Boston.

One Art

"SculptureCenter presents "one art", a new project by internationally renowned artist Anya Gallaccio. Commissioned through SculptureCenter's Artist-in-Residence program, this is be Gallaccio's first solo exhibition in an American museum."

"For "one art", Gallaccio will fell and disassemble a tree and then reconstruct it with all the engineering required to support it visible. The tree, a weeping cherry killed when contractors erroneously cut its root system, will reach into SculptureCenter's fifty-foot-high clerestory
